What particular section of the novel could I study and analyze? What particular section is a turning point or a major segment of the novel?
You could do this a few different ways..........
First, you could analyze Firdaus' murder of the pimp, drawing from the sections of the novel that lead to her prostitution (remember, she gets out of it once and then goes back).
Or, you could focus on how Nawal gets her to share her story. At this point she's condemned to death........... how does telling her story give her a sense of respectability? Does she want respectability?
I think either of these two sections would be easily used for an analysis. Good luck!
