    What does Prometheus mean when he says "and from fire they'll find out many arts?" What arts is he speaking of?

    Prometheus is best known for having given fire to mankind, but in today's reading, he details the other things he has given mankind through this gift. He argues that once they have fire, man is able to develop countless other practices that lead to the development of civilization--permanent settlements, farming, time-telling, and eventually things like medicine and divination. We know from history and anthropology that there is some truth to the way Prometheus argues this progression would happen--the invention/discovery of fire is what allowed mankind to flourish.
