Analyze Apollo's anger at the Furies. Why is he so disgusted with them?
Apollo is disgusted with the Furies because of their inability to think rationally about the situation at hand. He finds their arguments to be ridiculous because they make distinctions between Orestes's crime and Clytemnestra's that he doesn't find to be legitimate. In particular, Apollo finds their claims to be hypocritical, which is interesting because the Furies also find Apollo to be hypocritical. Their interaction highlights the inability of the two to find common ground.
