Herzog wants to make Ramona exotic and wild, which is why he pays attention to the smells in her apartment or the Egyptian music that she plays. He does not want to think of her as a domestic woman, despite the fact that she wants to share a home with him. When he watches her sleep, Herzog begins to see her as a human, and not as simply an exciting creature to make him feel alive.
