How does Catherine act towards Hal at the funeral party compared to the way she behaved in Scene 1? Why might this be?
Catherine is much more friendly towards Hal. It seems she is in a better mood and no longer suspects him of trying to steal her father’s work. It seems that in Scene 1 she was in a very aggravated mental state, having just woken up and imagined a conversation with her father.
