    From where does Hannah tell Tyler’s part of the story? Why is that significant?

    Hannah tells Tyler’s part of the story from outside Tyler’s home. She spies on him the way he spied on her—except she does not take pictures. This is significant because when Tyler listened to the tapes, he presumably he would his sense of security and safety violated in the way that Hannah felt. It is also important because it is a moment in which, during her final days, Hannah takes some agency. You can talk to your students about how the whole concept of the tapes, passing them from person to person, and spying on Tyler are all ways Hannah attempted to regain control in her life.
