In Book Seven, Aristotle contends that good government brings about a good way of life. What is the connection between good government and a good way of life? Do you agree that this should be the responsibility of the government? Provide evidence to back up your argument.
For Aristotle, the good way of life comes when people live according to their virtues. A good government not only builds up key virtues in citizens but also puts people in the roles best suited to their virtues. Once everyone is in their proper place and role, the city will be more stable and prosperous. Students may have different ideas about the ability of governments to provide this happiness.
