    How has humor like that in the scene between Myrrhina and Cinesias influenced twentieth- and twenty-first-century humor?

    Some students might note a humor similar to twentieth-century cartoons like Looney Tunes, or like Disney-Channel-style shows, or early-twentieth-century slapstick comedy. The scene is structured around Myrrhina seeming to give in, then saying "Wait!" and demanding just one more thing, and, finally, once all her demands seem to have been met, showing that this was a plot to tease her husband and leave him unsatisfied all along. Some students may be surprised to see this comedic structure in a play as ancient as this.
