    Does Sindbad's behavior towards Hindbad differ from what readers might expect from a person with his wealth and power? In what ways?

    Sindbad behaves in an unexpectedly generous way, not just for a person of his position, but also for a person who has had his honor questioned. Initially, as students may recall, when Sindbad invites Hindbad into his home, Hindbad fears that Sindbad will punish him because of the "indiscreet" words that he uttered in the square. At this point, attention is taken off of Sindbad's wealth and more emphasis is placed on the fact that he has been insulted.
