Why does Melinda get so worked up over the developing relationship between Rachel and Andy? What are some of the steps she takes to stop Rachel?

Melinda is sickened that anyone would want to be with a boy who did what he did to her. Students should realize that this is reason enough for Melinda to want to take action. While at first she thinks Rachel is stupid, the more of Rachel’s behavior she witnesses, the more she feels guilty for not putting a stop to it.
