    Reading Horror Stories Aloud

    Objective:

    Students will identify the differences between reading a horror story and having it read aloud to them

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.7

    Structure:

    Some of the first horror stories we're exposed to as children are ghost stories, perhaps told around a campfire or with a flashlight lighting the storyteller's face spookily. As a class, discuss some of the differences between stories being told out loud and being read. Do students think one way is inherently more scary than another?
