Students gain an understanding of the many allusions Augie makes.

Structure:

A budding intellectual, Augie loves to make allusions to classical literature. These allusions can be distracting to students, who miss the point of Augie's references.

To help students understand the allusions, break them into groups of 3-4 and ask them to choose one of the references made by Augie. Using Wikipedia, they will read the entries on the figure to whom Augie alludes.
