Marriage! The Board Game

Students will be able to creatively examine the role of gender, status, and wealth in Austen's characters.

Structure:

Supplies needed: dice, paper, pens, and any other art supplies that may be useful.

Divide students into groups of 4-6.

Students will create a board game called "Marriage!" which takes its inspiration from the rules of etiquette, status, and fortune as described by Austen in Regency-era England. Students should feel free to embellish, be creative, and make up their own rules,...
