    Ghost Stories

    Kind of Activity:

    Creative Writing

    Objective:

    Students will engage creatively with the collective unknown, practice storytelling, and write their own stories with an eye to the specific thematic elements from the novel.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.2, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.6, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.3

    Structure:

    In Bless Me, Ultima, Antonio is haunted by tragedies and loss. He’s haunted by losing his brothers, Florence, Narciso, and Lupito. Téllez and his family are actually haunted by ghosts. In this activity, students will allow themselves to be inspired by Bless Me, Ultima and write ghost stories.
