    Charting Morrie's Aphorisms

    Kind of Activity:

    Artistic Response

    Objective:

    Students will create digital art that captures the essence of one of Morrie's aphorisms.

    Structure:

    To begin this activity, provide the class with a clear and succinct definition of what an aphorism is. Then, students will make a list of five of Morrie's aphorisms that Morrie shares with Mitch throughout the memoir. Along with each aphorism, provide a short description of its meaning (in one or two sentences).

    From that list, students will choose one of the aphorisms for which to make a piece of digital art. Suggest that they choose the one that find that they most relate to. Students...
