About the Author

Sherman Alexie has written twenty-five books, including Blasphemy, War Dances, and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian. He is a poet, short story writer, novelist, and performer. In 1991, he quickly rose to literary stardom with the publication of a collection of poems, The Business of Fancydancing. James Kincaid, an English professor and scholar, wrote a positive review of Alexie’s first collection of poems. The review was published in The New York Times and was read widely.
